In America, we have 50 individual state elections, and each state is given a number of electors that is equal to the number of Representatives that each state possess. We do not live in a democracy.

Nah. Don't bother. These Trumpists liket to flaunt the fact that Trunp won via EC. But when we mention that more people actually voted against Trump and he only won thanks to an intresting system they go all "Popular vote doesn't matter" which it doesn't, but he still llst it and more people wanted Hillary over Donald. or "The popular vote is mob rule" which it is not

I personally think direct Democracy is a bad idea, but perhaps you can take a look at tge Swiss model? They seem to have a mixed system which involves direct Democracy
