I have worked with and for Veterans who agreed and disagreed with me. In fact, some were members of past Republican president's cabinets. Others were POW's, including the longest held POW from the Vietnam war. But, they all had one thing in common. They did not lie to me or anyone else, to try to win support. I don't know it all, which I think you are saying I think. But, I tell the truth and do my research. I have changed my mind when new factual information comes my way. But, I do not pass along opinions, mine or others, as fact. And, I do not accuse people of not loving their country because they disagree with me.

You know what else the majority of us veterans have in common, We don't use our veteran status to attack people who we disagree with. We don't use our service record to show how patriotic we are.
Keep bragging how much you've helped veterans, Real veterans know what we've done for our county, We didn't serve for bragging rights, it's apparent that's why you served.

I know that you probably will not take my word for it, but I have met more than a few "phony," Veterans. They have stolen the honor you earned. Unfortunately, they are mostly people who are underachievers. And, most of the ones I have dealt with claim to be conservative. Having been raised by a real conservative who served in WWII (for the duration) I seriously doubt their claims of political affiliation. And, most of them claim heroics that would be uncommon for an underachiever. But, almost all I have said has nothing to do with my service record, which is unremarkable. It has to do with the years I served as a VA employee. I never said no Trump supporters ever served. So, that is a lie. Let's leave it there. I worked for the government for 30-years, as a health care manager and in public affairs. Trump made specific choices and set specific priorities that created this policy. He could have redirected money from any sources to provide soap and toothbrushes to those kids and you would not have heard so much as a wimper from Democrats. He didn't do anything on his own, because he was satisfied with the way things were. Read the newspapers, the Democrats passed a $4.5-billion emergency funding bill to help relieve this problem. That may not be going along with Trump. But, going along with him would mean more suffering for little children. We're opposed to that kind of stuff.

The Democrats passed the bill because the president told them he did not have enough funds. They do not control the assets or have free access to the books. So, they have to take his word for it. By the way, the Republicans in the Senate rejected this bill.

As much as it might surprise you, I do not approve of illegal immigration. But, when you make applying for refugee status as difficult as it has been made recently, people escaping violence are between a rock and a hard place. I would prefer that we try to help their countries fix things there. But, guess who cut that program.

I am in favor of helping children in America. But, can you guess who cut funding for the Childrens Health Insurance Program and the Snap-Food Stamps? If you are in favor of helping poor American kids, you must be a Democrat, because the Republicans are on record as opposing these programs.

The fact of the matter is that Trump gains more if there are open and festering problems with immigration. If he "fixed," things he would lose an issue that gets his troops motivated. He needs failures and controversy related to immigration to point the finger away from him.

Yesterday (June 26) reporters were taken on an escorted tour of the Clint, TX facility. The number of kids had been reduced from about 350 to about 100. According to records, it had been over 700 at one point. The reporters were shown a cleaned facility that had supply cabinets full of food, snacks, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste. If the Trump administration could not provide these things on Tuesday because Democrats did not "go along with Trump," and legislation to correct the problem has not been passed and signed, where did the funds to relocate the excess kids and buy the provisions come from? Glory be! Manna from Heaven! Or, perhaps it has been a leadership problem all the time?

And the Democrats would already have a huge wall on the border.
