All of which, true or not, says nothing in the way of refuting the meme, from which one could infer you admit the meme is true.

I guess it's how you spin it. If you believe paying students loans is the best thing for the country, then it's not vote buying, same thing from the other side if you really believe tax cuts are best for the country it's not vote buying. It only becomes vote buying if you don#t really believe in it's intrinsic value, and your only purpose is to get votes.

For one thing, it's the timing. The race for 2020 is getting into gear and suddenly NOW dems are talking "reparations for black people" (something we never even heard a peep about during Obama's whole presidency) and paying off student loans.

On top of which, those are for /targeted/ demographics, and "coincidentally" enough, the same demographics Dems have been bleeding recently. Generation Z students have been showing a swing back to the right, or at least away from the left, as have black people, in the form of Blexit.

As for "tax cuts", those promises don't target individual groups, they're blanket promises at least /claimed/ to be for everyone. And you know what? Promising tax cuts is a time-honored tradition as old as the hills among politicians running for any office, of course it's intended to get votes, it always has been. It's not like Trump invented that particular election promise. At least he actually delivered on the promise last time around.

How much MORE have you seen? I saw less.
1 up, 5y
Also- did you pay MORE in end of year taxes? I did. Many saw a SLIGHT increase in their take home pay because they were withholding less to only pay more at the end of the year in taxes. Plus these tax cuts are only growing the national debt/deficit. We WILL have to pay this at some point. Trump promised to SHRINK government. Instead he grows it AND cuts taxes...all while the economy is doing pretty well. A recipe for disaster.

No matter what source I cite I am sure it will be considered "fake news" so here is a relatively conservative publication:

So is promising tax cuts and less regulations (which allows for more profits)

Tax CUTS as opposed to INCREASING taxes for a) crimes people in the past committed against other people in the past and b) loans that people need to pay back as stinkin' grown-ups.

Yes. But those are also good for the economy. Reparations and student loan forgiveness is going to be a burden on the economy.

LOL how are they good for the economy? The corporations and wealthy KEEP the money. You've been duped into believing trickle DOWN economics, time to try TRICKLE UP economics.

Give poor people money and they spend it. Creating jobs along the way. The rich will still wind up with it at the end...just less of it. But the stimulation along the way is better for the economy than holding back trillions and stock buybacks.

uh....taken a look at the economy lately? If the Dems had one in 2016 we'd still be limping along at less than 2% growth...

Take an Econ class. We have been all over the place for the past 10 years. Of course it is leveling off but not as high as you have been led to believe. Trump will look at a monthly or quarterly number and people think it's annual. We are at about 3-3.2% annualized. Which is the average from 1947 to 2019. So, it's Decent...it's fine. But not what Trump said (was it 4%? MORE?) He simply lies and too many people blindly believe him.

Obama said it would never approach 3%. I know I am better off under Trump than Obama. My company used to pay bonuses based on goals and how we did against those goals. The first 4 years under Obama the bonuses got smaller and smaller and the last 4 years they were non-existent. I got a bonus this year and it's bigger than any we got when we were getting them under Obama. So argue all you want, throw out a bunch of statistics "proving" the economy is poor, but I can see the economy is stronger under Trump.

The economy is not poor. It's just not as great as Trump sold you. It's been getting better since 2009 basically and still on the same trajectory.
