no political philosophy is without it's flaws, but the extremes of the spectrum tend to be the most shrill (and self-righteous) and those voices/leaders/demagogues are the ones who create the most drama, and hence get the bullhorn, because conflict and drama are profitable.
and we all are the lesser for it.
most peoples politics overlap for the most part, but the media has trained so many of us to view politics as this weird binary, polarized polemic.that if you disagree on one point, then you MUST disagree on all points, and are viewed as the "enemy" or "playing for the opposing team".
just take you and I as an example.
we have had some productive discussions, even though I am confident our politics does not always align.(aIthough in some cases they do) but the end result has been understanding, and isn't that the best place to start?
both the extreme left and the extreme right need to be challenged at every step,in order for reason to triumph.
but sadly, many people do not like their ideologies challenged, and prefer the safety and comfort of their own confirmation bias bubbles.where they can have their ideologies parroted back to them in order to have a weird, piece of mind of their own righteousness.
what an incredibly dangerous and toxic path to walk,
