Ok, well, we officially lived in two completely different worlds then because I very clearly remember the ridiculous lengths they took to beat the controversy drum.

SNL is a comedy show. Now, I know that the news is a joke to you, and that's fine, but I shouldn't have to explain why a TV sketch show most noted for the likes of Wayne's World, The Blues Brothers, and That One Adam Sandler Movie They Made Fifty Times, is allowed to have a political bias.

It's just another example of how the entire media, besides Fox, to an extent, gave Obama an entirely free pass. Which is kind of surprising seeing how he was pretty nasty to those few that didn't lionize him.

So again, ignoring SNL on the grounds that nobody at all gets their news from them, I remember very clearly eight years of all the major news organizations ginning up bunk stories to bump up their ratings for almost no reason at all. Obama had a great deal of difficulty trying to focus the media conversation on topics that were more important than the nonsense stories about him.

If you honestly don't remember that then we really are lost because in the world I lived in, you really couldn't miss it! Not on CNN, not on NBC, not even in The Guardian.

Obama never funded nor provided weapons to ISIL, that was Saudi Arabia and Turkey's doing.
Obama DID effectively eliminate bin Laden and Al Queda (which Bush never got around to), leaving a vacuum which ISIL (initially created largely out of generals & soldiers from Iraq's former army which Bush simply decomissioned) stepped into.
Obama's planned operations which began in 2014 to route ISIL in Iraq (unofficially utilizing mostly Iranian troops, Iraqi Shiite militias, and Kurdish Peshmerga) was successfully completed in 2017. You might have heard of that one.
