in my opinion,the underlying problem is the politicization.
planned parenthood offers more services to women then just abortion.maybe the % is higher than claimed,maybe it is not,but that is not my main point.the % is actually irrelevant.the services they offer to the poor,working poor and vulnerable women,however..are.
we can take the gun control argument and apply the same metric:
if you ban guns,this will not stop criminals from purchasing and using guns for their criminal enterprise.
this is a valid criticism of gun banning advocates.
if you ban all abortions,this will not stop women from seeking out abortions.
this too,is a valid criticism of anti-abortion advocates.
the % is just a canard to inject into the debate to muddy the waters from the very obvious truth we can all see.it is a political bullwhip to appeal to emotion,and actually has very little to do with the underlying discussion.
