My Mom did this to my older brother with clothes. He had to have LEVI jeans. So Mom bought him department store jeans, and sewed Levi tags on them. He never knew the difference.

Just name the brand so then theoretically it becomes name brand.

Not from my experience. Though it has been a long time since I’ve eaten generic cereal. The last time I tried generic Cap’n Crunch, it got soggy too quick. Might not be the same with all brands. My boy would be able to tell the difference, though... : )

It's a good idea, unless you're putting the cheap store brand cakes into the Little Debbie boxes. That would be caught every time.

Reminds me of when I my mom and I were babysitting and my young niece refused to drink the milk her mother had fixed for her. Then one of us happened to open the fridge near her and she saw the pink carton of milk we had brought for ourselves and she suddenly enthusiastically wanted some. Drank it without complaint.
