He did not lie about serving in Vietnam, and that fact is irrelevant to the story. There is no law, it was straight up rude and disrespectful to harass someone's religion. He was doing a practice of his ethnicity, and the boys were straight up disrespecting that.

Does that man have anywhere to go? Even if he marched up to them, the boy's acts were pure stupid. He wasn't "drumming in their faces," he was just drumming peacefully. Even if he did come close to them, getting in his face and harassing him is not the proper way to respond to that. So what if they were harassed first? If someone was raped, it does not mean that they should go around raping people too. Believe in logic, not whatever the hell your party says.

I'll state it again. The activist marched up to a group of boys, it was his choice. Unless the kids did anything illegal, only your feelings got hurt.
