On any given flight there is at least one device that has not been set to airplane mode, yet no planes have ever fallen out of the sky because of it. If there was any evidence they could affect instrumentation your phones would be conviscated for the duration of the flight.

There's plenty of official evidence and reports of electronic devices, including phones and even DVD players affecting various instruments during flight, many without knowing why. Just because you don't understand, know or make light of it, doesn't mean it's not a potential danger. I'm not a foil hat wearer but doesn't mean I'm not open to sensible science and evidence.
