Easy fix though, Demos just have to agree to the wall. They're fine with paying tens of billions to border defence over each administration, and they're fine with giving hundreds of billions to the military ... 5 billion ain't gonna be a problem

Um, most people have no say in how much gets taken out. You simply tell your employer how many dependents you have, and based on some formula, they take out what they think you owe. In my experience, if you are in a low tax bracket, they always take too much.

You don’t have to put down the actual number, you can claim more dependents, so that they withhold less.

Falsifying federal documents is a crime.

It is not a crime to claim more dependents than you have, so no one is falsifying anything.

Try that on your next tax return.

Not talking about the tax return, I’m talking about the W4 where you can claim more deductions, therefore less tax withheld, and results in not having to let them use your money all year interest free. If you have too much withheld just so you get a refund, you aren’t very money savvy. I would rather have to pay each year and get the use of that money
