Border Patrol tries hard. They really do, I know. But, one of their primary tasks is preventing people from entering the country illegally by crossing the US border with Mexico. Considering the amount of open border there is, they will always fail. If they catch more people entering illegally, it's really only because there are more people attempting to enter illegally.
The funding the BP gets is not enough to satisfy their purpose. Even if more money went to funding the BP it wouldn't be enough. Think of bears catching salmon in a stream. The more bears in the stream, the more salmon get caught; but not all of them, not even close.
In the end, what you want and what you think doesn't matter. Your people lost the election. People that want the wall won the election, and our man gets shit done. Plan A may have failed, but Plan B, Plan C and Plan D are all lined up. He's getting what he wants. Trump could call a state of emergency at any moment because of the new caravan heading our way and could have the Military build it. He doesn't want to do that. He wants it to be done by the American Government, not as a presidential order. Doesn't mean he wont. It's over. Wall wanters win.
