I don't see how more gun laws are helping, either. However, restricting the best means of protection to law abiding citizens seems rather idiotic.

I'm not 100% sure on this but I think there are actually less gun laws in Chicago now than there were before.. (unless you go wayy back)

One thing a lot of people dont understand, is that more or less gun laws arent the problem. Chicago is a poor inner city with a lot of violence. It isn't caused by more gun laws.

You're right, it isn't caused by more gun laws. But taking away the best means of protection from law abiding citizens is stupid. Thugs and criminals will get their guns. Average citizen won't. But now they're unarmed.

Agreed. Restrictions don't take them away from average citizens however.

The ones that are in some cities that make you wait like thirty days or the ones that make it so you have to know about other random weapons. That being said you should have to have an ID and a clear background check to get one if you ask me.

2016 numbers:
The per-capita gun violence rate for Chicago: 16 per 100,000.
The per capita rate for New Orleans? 46 per 100,000.

What about the states?
Illinois: 11 per 100,000
Louisiana: 22 per 100,000

Louisiana has the laxest gun laws in the United States.

If you look further, Oakland had 23.9 per 100,000, Baltimore had 38.1 per 100,000, and Detroit had 45.0 per 100,000. All of these have strict gun laws. All are also run by Democrats, including New Orleans.

As most research has shown, it proves that gun laws make no difference. Criminals don't follow the law.

If you think about it, the Democrats are voted in because these are poorer places with a high amount of minorities and ghettos. That also statistically causes violence. The Dems arent causing higher crime. How does stricter laws cause more murder?
