Reposts are part of memeing, but people en masse voting on the same ones at the same time?

I've been away a while but seeing memes hit the front page with under a thousand views is like a kick in the nuts. I can get more views on imgur in 10 minutes and they downvote the shit out of everything I post there. Except for one that I thought wasn't much that got over 500,000 views somehow lmao.

It's not really possible to attracted talented users who make original content that attracts viewers. On a site where the only viewers left reward reposters with upvotes and don't appreciate the people that actually try to create something new.

There are still people here I enjoy talking to. That's the only reason I still post stuff here. It's only the stuff I post other places as well for the fun of it though. The stuff I really put time into making and know has the best chance of going viral with hundreds of thousands of views I only post one place.
Sadly when something gets that much attention you don't want haters finding it posted on another site. I'd love to be able to post here and bring that much attention to this site. Unfortunately posting something here can hurt it's chances of breaking that million view mark I try hard to achieve.

It sucks but that's the truth of it, everything I know about memes I learned here. It's still the only place on the internet I am completely myself and don't say things based on what my audience at the time wants to hear. That's worth a lot more to me than going viral...

The less amount of views would be on account of the separated meme streams.
Politics was choking the Front Page, chasing milder voices off with the ugliness. Once the streams were created, most stick to their niches. Some get tired and switch.

There was a crackdown on stolen memes, but now the Repost Stream exists for them, so they slide.
Points inspire competition, but all too often via sure shot reposts rather than fostering effort and originality. Lots of new features keep being added, but remain underutilized by many.

Growing pains, readjustments.

The new format has a lot of potential. I plan on playing around with my new photo shop stream more than anything. I love doing contests but have yet to find a site that has much back and forth between the shoppers. One site does a little but they are focused on picture perfection and you don't get votes for being funny or a unique idea.

I'd really enjoy a combination of a lot of the photoshop sites I've tried out. I do my best work on the fly during a fun collaboration. I can't force myself to be creative. I'd rather not submit anything for weeks than make a meme that felt like work...
