The average European pays over 65% of their income in taxes. The EU has an annual GDP growth rate of only 1.79%.

I don't know anyone who says any of what is being suggested would be free. EVERYBODY knows it costs money. Those numbers don't look bad considering the health insurance for my family is 20k a year and we have much worse roads than Germany.

Sorry, health ins. for my family of 4 is 30k a year. We have no pre-existing conditions or issues.

I understand the cost of healthcare is outrageous, but that does not mean I should pay for your healthcare or your education.

Maybe it would make more sense to look at ways to reduce the cost, rather than have more government control. Government regulations is already one of the drivers of the high costs already.

BTW, most road maintenance is a responsibility of local governments, not federal. If you roads are bad, complain to your local politicians. That is why we need more control to remain local and not federal.

We all pay for everyones health care already. We pay for the uninsured to visit emergency rooms. You ever see someone turned away from the emergency room because they didn't have insurance?

I pay a good percentage of every retired person already too.

Reduce costs? Yeah, single payer would do that. It would remove most of the regulations you're talking about while creating new ones. Likely a wash on regulations.

I have no problem paying for others health care. I've done that my entire life with no hospitalizations and nothing but work history for the last 35yrs. Do I get my premiums back if I don't use it? No.

I believe in investing in our people. Remove the chains of healthcare from people and half the working population would quit their jobs the next day and start their own businesses. Half the people work at jobs they don't care about solely for the healthcare package they have. Without companies ability to hold the healthcare carrot over everyone, wages would shoot up over night. It would be the single greatest economic boost to creativity and innovation America could possibly get today if we went to a single payer system.

My roads are good. Not all in other states are the same for sure. Gas tax is currently not funding roads the way it needs to. With a $6.00gal price, there would be no issue. Just sayin.

Get rid of employer paid employment taxes. Make everybody actually write a check to the government like self-employed people do. (Why do you think so many self-employed people are conservative?) Then we will see people getting concerned about taxes.
