The record of all religions almost without exception is one of violence and oppression when they get a sniff of power, be it Christians for a 1000 years, Buddhists attacking Muslims in Sri Lanka or Myanmar or even those pesky Muslims.

Typical answer but wrong, religion is the back bone of international charity, without them governments do very little except fund the people doing the actual work. Really? You seriously believe that? Take Mother Thesera for instance, she was a friend of poverty not a friend of the poor. She saw people's suffering as Christian and revelled in it, yet when she was sick she went to California for treatment. People needlessly suffered in her institutions and she took money from outright nasty people to keep the illusion going.

Religion is supremacist and discriminatory by its very design and no friend of humanity.

I believe it and have seen it, without the Southern Baptists there is no such thing as an emergency response, the even feed FEMA.

I would say you are wrong.Both the Bible and the Koran talk about slavery as if it was the most normal thing in the world, but we both know it's morally wrong.

But, we don't have to take it as fundamental.
It's for a different time when slavery was common place. Nowadays is different.
The teachings which tell us to be good people, be compassionate, be charitable and other virtues are the ones which have survived because they have a place in society nowadays.
Religion fundamentalism can be dangerous, but I take religion texts and scriptures as something to interpret, rather than take at face value.

Well, the bible isn't necessarily the word of God in itself. The word of God is Jesus. The bible is an archive, from different sources and accounts, whether it be physical or interpretative/ allegorical.
The Qu'ran, to muslims, is believed to be untampered and the literal word of God, but most of its teachings are about peace and compassion. And slavery, for the most part, is more about profit, less on religious obligation.
God is wise, but the knowledge of good and evil also comes from humanity's wisdom. God is a guiding hand, rather than a forceful fist. He doesn't suppress people, he nurtures people. Giving them an ever growing conscience to realise what is good and what is bad.

No it is a question of numbers, did deep and you can find any religion had an attack carried out in its name, all except for Islam requires an actual search. Islam is the most dangerous religion on the planet, that can change but they have to do it. All we can do is stop lying and pretending it doesn't happen. I know they get offended so what? Truth hurts, Islam needs to change.

The OP uses the term "belief system." The "how" is basic Machiavellian ends/means rationale. You know, Stalin, Mao. Quibble if you want, but even the religionists have a fair point in there.

Agreed but only to a point, 1.5 Billion muslims will never harm anyone but as long as some do and they claim that Islam allows it, the rest have a responsibility to either stop them or remain silent and let the world believe the crazies are the only true Muslims.

The thing is that most Muslims sympathize and believe it is right to some degree.

I also tend to agree with that, the Koran justifies violence and I know there is no main stream Islamic group that will make a stand against violent jihad or claim that it is an outdated concept. That said there is also a cultural part to this, some Muslims are more prone to violence than others.

The Koran justifies violence like the old testament. Muslims are too far from their enlightenment and are now poor and not world leaders. When Muslims were more powerful it was vice versa, with the Muslims being tolerant and Christians violent. We need to leave the Middle East, and stop policing. Our management makes it worse. They can only receive true prosperity and with it peace and tolerance by themselves. Dont be scared of ISIS. Their empire can never control that many with such bad conditions. We shouldn't be in the Middle East out of fear of them invading America.

Sure, terrorism is bad, but the media likes to isolate it towards islam. All religions have nutters. Main religions of the world have mostly good people, but people use things like religion to justify blowing stuff up. You're forgetting that these actions are made by a select group of people. To say that islam as a whole is a problem is just as wrong as saying that 'all white people are racist'. You can't judge a whole community based on the actions of a handful of sects. There are probably loads of undocumented religious extremists from all religions, but the media is focusing, and giving publicity, to islam. It makes a headline. So, take a step back. Look at the bigger picture.

Which is exactly the point of the meme, until mainstream Muslims rise up against the violence in their name they are taking ownership of it. Silence is consent. Additionally no, no, no, no amount of they others have similar issues lies will erase the truth. The numbers do not lie, Islam wins the violence award over all other systems combined. Not just terrorism, dishonor murder, FGM, wife beating, rape gangs, acid gangs, doesn't matter if it is legal under shira or sanctioned by their culture, sect or not. When criminal Muslims are caught they all blame Islam. Outsiders will believe them. Just because you don't like the truth, it doesn't change facts.
