As quoted in “Adolf Hitler : The Definitive Biography” (1976) by John Toland | “We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions.” - Adolf Hitler, May 1927 | image tagged in hitler, antifa, socialism, capitalism | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

Socialism of any kind, whether nationalistic or globalist, is still socialism. And socialism is EVIL and must be crushed without mercy.

Socialism isn't evil (to start). The problem with socialism is that it simply doesn't work. Socialism assumes that everyone will do the necessary work, regardless of reward. When the reward promised is the same regardless of imput, everyone thinks everyone else will probably come up the slack, and no actually one does. Socialism usually evolves into evil rather quickly as a strong central authority is necessary to organize efforts to produce and distribute resources (usually replacing a punishment system for underperforming workers, rather than just fireing them, and providing no incentive for well performing workers, and no ability for workers to quit or switch jobs). This central authority always becomes oppressive, and decides itself needs more of the resources distributed to itself for...reasons.

Oh hear we go again, the Nazis were socialists. Doesn't anyone teach history in American schools anymore? The Nazis were crony capitalists. If you don't believe me look at their record. They claimed to be for the people, they said the nice things, (don't all politicians of all hues) but in reality they were for the very few.

2018: Americans still falling for Nazi propaganda from the 1920s. A sad state of affairs.

While the Nazis did in fact enact various forms of socialism, what's relevant here is that Hitler's rise to power was dependent in large part to pandering to both the socialist desires of the left *and* the nationalist desires of the right.

Part of what he promised people was socialism, and that got him into power. The extent to which he did or didn't deliver on that promise isn't relevant to this part of his Mayday 1927 speech. Understanding that makes the meme even more relevant.

I should add, it was Hitler's pandering to both the socialist desires of the left *and* the nationalist desires of the right that gave rise to his platform of "National Socialism". It worked. Combined with his oratory skills, and the socio-economic conditions of the time, that platform gained him popular support.

Hitler NEVER said that.... but a top early Nazi propaganda minister did. Hitler thought he was gaining too much popularity and had him murdered.

According to Pulitzer Prize-winning historian John Toland’s "Adolf Hitler: The Definitive Biography", that was part of Hitler's 1927 Mayday speech.

It was originally penned by Gregor Strasser, who was killed during Night of the Long Knives in 1934, but Hitler did say it publicly, and Hitler did use it to gain support of the left.
