the 2016 election didn't prove that the majority of america liked trump. it proved that the majority of america didn't vote

the reason i couldn't vote in 2016 was because i was 16. i doubt people will "not vote" again

58% went to the polls
a good number of them voted for Clinton.
Obviously the majority of Americans like Trump. 58% is still a shaky number

Obviously the majority of the electoral college liked trump. It need not be the same for the majority of voters.

Don't pretend that all the things this administration has done have only immediate costs. Health, environment, business, trade, equality of persons, free press. The tax breaks could "take a decade" to pay for themselves, so we obviously have no clear indication yet whether that has worked or will work. Choices on energy and environment may have impacts more near term than was predicted before. I've seen the CO2 graphs and none of the data show CO2 rising before temperature. The take away should be that we have no idea what will happen because it has never happened. In fact, I don't see any historic record that shows CO2 at levels it is now.

We likely will not see a whole lot of the negative consequences from this administration's choices within the 8 years after the first day of the administration.

One county? He had 304 to her 227, it wasn't even close. Even without ANY of Pennsylvania's votes he would've had enough to win the election

Fair enough. I've been kinda harping on the votes thing recently because tbh it's getting tiring hearing about it for the last 2 years even though it was so obscenely close, and the EC wasn't close at all. In fact, I dunno if you were watching on election night, but it wasn't until the next day that it turned out Hillary had won the popular vote. At the time that Trump was announced the winner, he was ahead in both electoral AND popular votes. Hardly a blowout, you know?

this is a 2 minute video from CNN's youtube channel of election night coverage - look at the popular vote tallies at the bottom as the night goes on

The reason I moved on to Hillary was because she had the higher popular vote. Personally, I can't stand her. She only does what she does for political gain. The reasons a lot of people didn't vote were:
A) They liked her (or preferred her to Trump) and thought she'd sweep the vote
or B) They couldn't stand either candidate.
Either way, I doubt the majority of Americans like Trump. It's mainly what the big echo chamber here has been telling themselves.

3 million votes is less than 1% of the us population.. its not like she won by a large margin. Not really sure why the left tries to use that as some badge of honor.. only won the popular vote by 1% of the national population and got absolutely creamed electorally because she insulted or ignored virtually everyone outside of the large cities. Not really something democrats should be bragging about..

Creamed, I heard one county in Pennsylvania could have blocked the electoral win. Hardly creamed. Being elected is elected though.

I'm a bit aware of those not so eco friendly politics he's pushing.

He did (surprisingly) reauthorize the Marine Act of 2006 to help clean the ocean.
... it doesn't negate everything else he's done, but i guess it's better than nothing.
