Trump blocked travel from countries mainly in a state of turmoil with whom we have practically no economic relations with and few travelers from. It's like saying you're going on a diet by not eating cauliflower which you don't already eat anyway.
Iran is the most stable of the lot, but we have sanctions imposed on them since 1979, and their economy continues to stall. Plus despite the propaganda, they, being primarily Shiite, aren't part of terrorism against the US and the West.
