Actually, there is no law that says anyone has to make their tax return public. But Hillary's emails were required to be in the public domain, and she deleted them.

And what exactly does that have to do with President Trump's tax returns or Hillary's emails? Deflection. Again, no law says he has to release publically any tax return.

jfc you are stupid afterall, i thought maybe you just did not get some other things... what does keith there have to do with trumps taxes? well YOU said it was not a LAW for the crook to show them..... so the POINT you idiot is that SO WHAT IF IT IS A LAW OR NOT???"?

I can tell from your reply that you realize you are losing this discussion. I have not called you any names or insulted you. Yet you result to Ad hominem. Why do lefests also resort to this when they have no logical defense of their position. The point is that IT IS NOT REQUIRED, so why should he release his taxes. Just to satisfy your morbid curiosity?

Yes, that is exactly why.
Plus it is tradition for Presidents to do so and he promised he would as well.

Having not seen the NYT's evidence, I really can't say how much it corroborates their allegations. However, knowing how complex and involved the tax code is, I would be surprised that journalists really know if he broke the law or not. I will wait to see if he is charged and convicted.

It is the facts that are important, and until the facts are known and proven, calling President Trump a crook is unfounded and defamatory. You can dislike him and his policies, that is your right. But just calling him names and making accusations without proof is just whining.

It may be a 40-year tradition, but it is not required. There is no upside for him to release them. I don't see any reason people need to see his taxes other than to satisfy their curiosity.

As far as the NYT story, I will wait to see if there is any proof rather than just accusations. We have just seen how useful uncorroborated accusations are. My understanding is NY State is looking into it. If he is charged and found guilty, then I will agree with you. Otherwise, calling him a crook is unfounded.

Read what I said and stop lying, moron.
2 ups, 6y
He promised it.

NYT's piece is 40 pages of corroborated material, not an Op-Ed.

Agreeing with me is irrelevent to the facts.

No, to prove he is a fraud and a cheat. - The only potus to withhold them besides Nixon, and we know why Nixon hid them. get a clue ffs

He and his companies are continually audited, and the IRS has never accused him of fraud. How is the general public, who as a whole, know very little about finances, going to tell from his tax return if he cheated? Once again, you are throwing around accusations that have no foundation in reality.

I understand that there are people who don't like him or some of his policies. But the left just keeps calling him names and making wild accusations without a scintilla of proof. I guess that is what you do when you don't have any facts to back your position. It is really starting to turn people off. #Walkaway.

jfc...dude again, ive known the trump asshole since the 80's he is a freaking con man... and a cheat and if you cant see it, thats on you. Done talking to you, you dont know enough.
1 up, 6y
He's being audited now, or so he claims. That was his excuse for not releasing his tax returns, claiming they wouldn't allow it - that, of course, is a lie.

You should read The NYTimes story on Trump businss and tax fraud, of which you're sure to dismiss as MSM lies for the "your people."

Sad.

Once again, making statements you can not defend. I am most definitely from NYC, born and bred. Oh, and nice trick stopping replies didn't know that could be done. I guess when you know you can not win a discussion, you just take your ball and go home crying to mother. I will meet you again on the field of battle, but I fear the result will be the same. You looking stupid.

I am a taxpayer who had their taxes reduced and whose investments have increased. I don't see anybody ripping anyone off.

I never understood that statement. What is a "fair share". The top 1% already pay 32% of the income taxes collected now. The top 10% pays 48% of the income taxes. The bottom 40% pays nothing. How is it "fair" to take someone else's money to pay for things that do not benefit them? It sounds more like jealousy. They made good choices and benefited. Someone else makes poor choices and doesn't do as well. Yet you want to take money from the ones who made good choices and reward the ones who made poor choices. That doesn't seem fair to me.

I have paid more in taxes than most people earn in a lifetime. Taxes were 65% under Kennedy, 95% before that. I paid 50% for the bulk of my earnings over my life, and did so gladly to help a country that makes earning that money even possible.

That's a non sequitur. It also has nothing to do with the Presidents taxes or Hillary's emails.
1 up, 6y
Neither does Hillary's emails have anything to do with Trump's taxes, other than your whataboutism deflection/non sequitur.

I also am from NYC and having worked on Wall Street, I know exactly what Trump is. However, that was all baked into the equation when he was elected. Considering his taxes are audited constantly, as are most billionaires, if there was something wrong, the IRS would have found it. It is just for the curiosity that people want to see them. There is no reason for him to release them.
