The DNP is literally killing and neutering its future with its current ideology. The only thing keeping it afloat is immigrant voters, who ironically think nothing like you. I talked to one immigrant woman about the DNP's stance on abortion and marriage. The next time I saw her she said she voted for Trump(previous Obama vote). Your party is simply too diverse to maintain a coherent, agreeable platform for much longer.

Eighty years ago, the majority thought segregation was great and gays were basically fair game for beatings. But majority rule is always great, right? Maybe you're the one that ought to do some thinking.

We are in agreement that strong rights for the minority is a good idea. You might check into a guy named John Rawls for further consideration.

I imagine we differ in that I consider the population of flyover country to be the minority when it comes to elections. They simply don't have enough people to "stand up for themselves" against the larger states, and thus without the electoral college or the way the senate is structured.. they would be essentially powerless. You said "If you're advocating for rule by the minority, you should think about that." I suggest you consider whether it is any more moral for you to rule over the minority.

States with tiny populations already have a tremendous amount of power die to the Senate. That's how the framers intended to protect their rights. The electoral college was intended to be a check on populism, not to circumvent the majority. It has one job, to prevent unqualified bozos like Donald Trump from becoming president, and it failed.
