The universe is Intelligent Design. God is the Intelligent Designer. And He is clothed in matter, just like we are. Human beings were created in God's image.
Several prophets, from Stephen to Joseph Smith, have seen God. He is an exalted Man of Holiness, a living Person, with a tangible body of flesh and bones. :)
1 up, 4y,
Does Genesis 1:26-27 mean his physical image or spiritual image? Gen Q, who is Stephen? Sorry about my ignorance.
Stephen is a Christian whose martyrdom is recounted in Acts 7.
Genesis means both. The Doctrine and Covenants explains that a spirit body resembles a physical body. The difference is that spirit matter is finer or purer, intangible to the coarse physical substance we're used to.
My personal theory is that dark matter and spirit matter are the same thing, and it possesses Boson intangibility.

Thanks for the reply. Some people think science and religion are antithetical. I believe, when persued with humility, they are complementary.
"The universe is intelligent design" Except that we have only one inhabitable planet that we know of and the sun will eventually turn into a Red Giant and destroy everything. "Several prophets, from Stephen to Joseph Smith, have seen god" And many prophets have seen things that contradict the Bible.
What would you accept as evidence, and not rationalize as yet another lucky coincidence?
Science cannot disprove God. But you're not going to find Him in a laboratory or a telescope. The first step is humility and open-mindedness. Only spiritual people can know things spiritual.
We can't. But he has to exist for all of this to work. The universe has a beginning point. All matter and energy began at this point. But what caused this singularity event to happen? Nothing just happens because it can. Everything needs to cause something. That's how the universe works. So what is it? Well, it can't be matter or energy because there was none before this point, so the only logical explanation IS a supernatural being. Maybe it's not God but something else. Let's call this being Bob. Bob needs to exist forever, be all-powerful, all-knowing, and care enough to make life and the universe as we know it and keep it running. If these weren't true, then Bob couldn't have started the big bang or wouldn't have. You may call him Bob, but I call him God.
Every genuine prophet in history has had his good name slandered.
Like Paul in Agrippa's court, and Harry Potter in Book 5, Joseph Smith maintained the story of what happened to him. And he sealed his testimony with his own martyrdom.
The idea that Joseph Smith, or any man, could have made up and written the Book of Mormon, is more far-fetched than Joseph's claim to have translated it by the gift and power of God.
And no, he wasn't a pedophile.
As for your last complaint...Don't let the Personal Incredulity fallacy fool you. Mormonism sheds extra light on humans' eternal destiny. We are spirit children of God (Acts 17:23-31). It follows that, when properly nourished, offspring grow to become like their parents. The Book of Revelation is very supportive of the doctrine that righteous mortals can progress to become gods in the eternities.
I'm sorry I'm no better than these atheists and liberals mocking people for their beliefs. Please forgive me and in the future I will not mock your cult. I hope you bless yourself with many attractive girls. May no one question their age!!
The LDS Church is not a cult. It is a global Christian church.
Also, the LDS Church stopped plural marriage 128 years ago.
And we have ALWAYS been against pedophilia.
Don't confuse us with Warren Jeffs' sect. We're not affiliated with them at all.
We believe that everyone is a spirit child of God (Acts 17:23-31). So yes, we're all spirit siblings. And history has seen plenty of siblings who turned out very different.
The Bible never said that God DOESN'T have a Wife. And it makes it pretty clear that a man is incomplete without a female partner. In whose image do you think God created women?
The Book of Revelation is pretty supportive of the doctrine that in the afterlife, after the resurrection and our return to Heaven, we can progress to our full potential, becoming gods. After all, offspring grow to become like their parents.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worships the Father and the Son (Jesus). We believe in and study the New Testament of the King James Bible. We strive to obey the Ten Commandments, attend church on Sundays, and show compassion, charity, and forgiveness throughout the week. So yes, we're definitely Christians.
We go by the New Testament. The Nicene Creed was an apostate edict issued over two centuries after the apostles' death. And the Trinity is an apostate interpretation of the Godhead - of the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost, three separate Beings who are one and united in purpose. Jesus wasn't praying to Himself. He was praying to His Father.
"For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God", "No one comes to the Father but by Me" any of these sounding like God thinks we're His equal? The amount of f**king ego and self righteousness you people must have to actually speak these words aloud as truth is unbelievable... I'm done talking to you now so bye. Ps- you follow a false prophet.
