Now. If people want to believe that there are more than two genders. It's not a mental disorder, it's a belief. We all aloud to have our own beliefs, you know. I'm not saying that I believe that there are more than two. I just don't see the point in shaming people for believing so.

The point is to shame people who shame others for 'denying the science'. It is an objective, provable fact there are only two genders. That's the science. So when people come along who express doubt believing in Global Warming - even though there is scientific proof that very much casts doubt such a thing even exists - here comes the shame, ridicule and scorn for 'denying the science'.

It's called "what's good for the goose is good for the gander".

I know. More than two genders IS scientifically impossible. But I think that people are aloud to believe in what they want to believe. Even if it is impossible according to science. Just as long as it's not hurting anybody. (:

No, you are not allowed (which is the correct spelling) to believe anything you want to believe. You cannot believe you are a police officer if you are not, for just one example. Believing something that counters something so - in your words - scientifically impossible SHOULD be a self-evident proof of mental illness and the only 'proof' we need to lock you away until you are no longer mentally ill.

Short of that, I do get to heap scorn, ridicule and derision on you should you give anyone else crap for 'denying the science' if you believe or espouse to believe there are more than two genders.

I don't believe that there are more than two genders. But I still think that people are allowed to believe so. There are some people who don't feel fully male or fully female. That's just how it is.

The thing is that this whole system of belief DOES cause harm. Telling someone that their delusional ideas are perfectly fine and that yes, we can surgically and chemically alter you so that you seem more like how you think you want to be, isn't okay. It especially isn't okay when we start dosing teenagers with hormones in order to reverse their natural sexual development. They haven't even fully developed and they can be expected to understand the consequences of such a decision? Really?

It's their choice if they want to do so.

Obviously the best way to make a political argument is to "shame" others.
