I think it was safer to separate the families. I think that they had a better chance of getting into the country when they went to specialized detention centers. I know for a fact that most of these families will miss out on their opportunities to enter the country because immigration lawyers have admitted to me that it's too difficult to visit them so they take cases that are closer.
