Dude, seriously, saying those things don't even exist? I'm a conservative and I'm well aware that liberals blow those things out if proportion for their political gain. But the reality is that those things sadly do exist to some degree and always will as long as mankind exists

Racism, sexism and xenophobia aren't as bad as the Democrats make it out to be, but they feel the need to keep adding fuel to the proverbial fire in order to keep the country divided.

I agree with that totally. The Obama era added napalm to an ember. But I also clearly see what is becoming equally as bad, and that is the overreaction to it which is sometimes referred to as "white grievance politics." I see more and more of my friends blaming blacks, Hispanics, pretty much anyone who is non-white and non-Christian for every problem that exists. And I say that as a white southern make Christian conservative. As I've gotten older I've come to realize the biggest problem in society is the inability to see the evil within ourselves, and within our own. Us against them is destroying us from within, and it comes from ALL sides.

Yeah no doubt. Wife and I just had dinner at our favorite Asian buffet and I was noticing just how diverse the crowd was in there. Of course there were many variations of Asians, blacks, middle eastern, "whites", young, old, salt of the earth, plastic types, short, tall, skinny, fat, etc, etc. I was thinking how though there is so much between us all, we were all just there to enjoy a good meal with others, and we're all just people trying to enjoy life, and not so different.

Both sides do it. Liberals do it and conservatives do it. Just recently, the niece of MLK was accusing Planned Parenthood and its supporters of being racist. Conservatives often blame the nation's problems on liberals, "Marxists," atheists, progressives, etc.
reply

Many do it unconsciously as you just did. You started out saying both sides do it, and finished with only conservative blame. It becomes a habit that gets in the way even when you try to be reasonable doesn't it? :)

You can make a serious argument about "xenophobia," but racism and sexism not as much.

Xenophobia is the fear of foreigners and their cultures. I believe you can be afraid of something you don't know much about other lands. Things that can be dangerous like other cultures can be scary to some people.

Created by democrats. The KKK was started by the democrats during the Civil War to combat what the north was doing to fight slavery.
reply
2 ups
The KKK wasn't started until after the Civil War had ended. They were started as a group that terrorized and attacked newly freed black people (I would say newly freed slaves, but that's an oxymoron).

Also, pointing out that it was started by Democrats is irrelevant to this conversation, because I don't hear modern day Democrats supporting the Klan. And if any do, they're stupid.

Nazis aren't dead. The pics from my other meme are recent of people with swastikas on their shirts giving the nazi salute. He's been defending republicans by trying to say these white supremacist clowns were started by democrats 200 years ago, or that they're conservatives but definitely not republicans. Trump supporter, defends republicans, blames democrats for everything, denies racism when people are sending package bombs to POC, or shooting up a church or a Waffle House full of black people... I'm sure there were Germans who agreed with everything Hitler did but tried to deny being a nazi, too, but it didn't make them any less of one...

I'm not defending republicans. I defend anyone with any form of moral compass. Most of who I defend happen to be republicans because there are far more conservative republicans than conservative democrats. Damn, you support a republican in office and suddenly you're a republican. lol! Typical leftist thinking.

So when the Black Panther party shout racial epithets at people and try to intimidate voters to vote for Barack Obama, that isn't on Obama, but when Nazis support Trump, Trump is suddenly Nazi?

No one can convince these white supremacists that people of color deserve to live in this country just as much as they do. You can give them evidence, show them laws, try to make appeals for empathy, nothing works because in their minds, they have preconceived ideas about a black, gay or Jewish person before they ever meet them and they bring those ideals with them wherever they go, prompting them to treat others in disturbing and often morally wrong or deadly ways.

I agree with some of your comment, but America is great. If it weren't we wouldn't have an illegal "immigrant" problem. Like the top meme on the front page states, "I don't see anyone jumping the fence into Mexico."

The problem that many people have (many more young people than old) is they believe that America invented slavery. They're being taught this in the Universities that are being run by the 70's hippies that truly despise this country. America didn't invent slavery, we ended it. The youngest super power on the planet and we ended slavery over 150 years ago. There are many countries that still practice slavery.

I would say that this country is great. If not just on the slavery issue alone.
reply
1 up, 1 reply
No we did not invent slavery and all races have suffered its results. Simply calling America GREAT for Good actions does not exonerate the vile and immoral actions we've committed around the Globe. And it especially does not exonerate US from the vile immoral and unconstitutional actions that were committed are being committed and will be committed against ALL Americans. Our Government is corrupt unconstitutional from the bottom up. And by willfully goose stepping to their illegal and unconstitutional dictates Law Enforcement are even more guilty. Law Enforcement is made up of a few types. Simple bllod thirsty power hungry thugs, Those who try to good while ignoring most of their actions are in fact not good or helping anyone. Squeaky wheel gets the grease in this world . Day to day normalcy is boring news. The minority and the loudest in the room get headline news when it comes to social issues. Just to clarify these responses by uneducated people. The Nazis were socialist, just like their hero Berni Sanders. Idk if you get your views from the mainstream media or what. Time to actually read a book made of paper.

You're minimizing the extreme racism that's going on in this country which has been supported, fueled and empowered by the Trump administration. They've been emboldened like nothing we've seen since the 60's. People are being openly harassed, sent package bombs, beat, shot, lynched even by members of this movement that you're defending. People are wearing shirts with swastikas, giving nazi salutes, and they support Trump. Are nazis going around today saying feel the Bern? NO. They're saying make America great again.

Of course not every single Republican agrees with them. But a hell of a lot of them do. And if people are dying, then it doesn't get any worse than that. Trump supports white supremacy. It's a fact, he's got them all over his cabinet. And if you can continue to support him knowing that good Americans are dying in the streets because of his racism, then what does that say about you as an American, as a human being?

Republicans and democrats alike, yes. All playing the race card, but at this moment it's the democrats that are calling the people who don't go along with their views as racists, sexists, etc.

The government is creating an environment that isn't (or shouldn't) even an issue. Continuing to label someone a racist, sexist, xenophobic when they oppose the opinions of one group, is wrong and needs to stop.

Racism as we are told it exists does not truly exist. Racism was not even a major issue until Barack Obama made it one. When you alienate a certain group of people and raise up another, you divide.

Is there racism in this country? Certainly, to some extent. You have these "alt right" and "extreme leftist" groups that only exist to divide our country and the government fans the flames. These groups weren't even heard of and no body gave them the time of day. Not until Obama stepped in and made the New Black Panther Party relevant and the leftist media bringing the alt right (Nazism and white power groups) into the top tier of media coverage. Now suddenly racism is something that is out of control in this country.

I will when I get to my laptop. As for the meme I posted, it was meant to draw attention to something. I guess a form of clickbait, but it being a serious issue and to some extent I believe.

i would really appreciate it. all i found was a fake photo of obama as a black panther, (which was debunked) and michelle obama, saying she liked the black panther movie.

“What we saw was that Ferguson police department in conjunction with municipality saw traffic stops, arrests, and tickets as revenue generators as opposed to serving,” he continued, adding the overwhelmingly white force was “systematically” biased, placing minorities under its care into an “oppressive and abusive situation.”

Barack Obama on the Michael Brown case, telling the country that the Ferguson Police Department were racially biased and were arresting and issuing tickets to blacks much more than other races. He failed to mention that Ferguson has a very high majority black population and it would only make sense that there are far more blacks being arrested. This was on the ABC News website.

The link was the only story that I could find just doing a quick search about the New Black Panther Party and some of their member intimidating voters during the 2008 election. I remember seeing this story on some news outlets, but can't find them doing a quick search. Barack Obama also marching with the party.

If I have more time I'll look harder for more stories. A lot of them seem to be suspiciously disappearing.

Yes it is true. One bad apple speaks for the entire race, religion or gender. That is your view. Very narrow minded, and unintelligent. Easy to explain this on your level which is very low. We erase everyone's account here but yours. We instruct people to view your posts and replies and make an assumption based on just one individual. Their conclusion. That everyone on this site hates trump. Thinks his supporters are nazis and affiliated with the KKK. Easy enough to understand now how everyone else on this site views your views?

Which country are you living in? Race is still a huge issue in the USA, despite it being the year 2018!

I live on the east coast. I havent seen one person in all my life, and that's long before the election of Trump either have a swastica on their shirt or fly the nazi flag anywhere, ever. Whatever shithole part of the country you live in that has this, time to move. We had a black govenor. Race relations are ok. My job puts me in parts of my town that are not white by far. And my job is talking and dealing with the public. I dont sense anything when in conversation and or listening. I think when you make race an issue. It will be an issue. Sorry. I've been around along time and I dont have those issues and or encounters to speak about.
