There's an essential paradox there, though, a mexican standoff: If one side doesn't push their agenda as hard as the other side, then one of the sides wins, and the facts still get buried in a shallow grave.
As long as both sides are trolling equally, (or if both sides somehow miraculously decide to stop), then facts have a chance to be pushed to the top.
