It used to be, depending on the faith, you could smoke during church services. At one time, it wasn't unusual to see a shopper walking down the aisle of a grocery store with a cigarette dangling from the lips. In college, they set up a smokers lounge for students, but now those are gone. Even smokers break rooms at work are gone. Laws are being passed that you can't smoke in your own car if there's a child in it. One trucker I know was ticketed for smoking in his own truck at a weigh station.
Guns? you'd be surprised where they're accepted. My daughter carries hers nearly everywhere.
