So does anyone else think that there is a fair amount of chicanery going on behind the scenes here?

My last 4 featured submissions have a total of 17 views. Is there anyone else on this site?

I believe that there are a lot of shenanigans happening behind the scenes here. I have thought about leaving this site for quite some time. And I have seen some very good memers leave also. I have a few memes already made up which are sitting in the queue. After all of them have been submitted, I am out of here.

I am close to leaving. If no one even looks at my submissions...what's the point. (If a tree falls in the forest...)

I understand. I've been told that a lot of the decision making process on submissions, is automated. That may be true. But if it is true, then that means that the automation looks at all kinds of variables. Variables can be weighted, and skewed in all kinds of ways. Variables can also be ignored for some favored memers.

But I'm convinced that there is a whole lot more going on behind the scenes, and I really don't have any time or desire to deal with any of it. I don't quite know if the problem is the mods, or whoever is running this website, or trolls. Nor do I care any more.

I suspect that whatever is happening here is akin to the chicanery done at the DNC with Hillary being anointed while Bernie lost on account of Superdelegates.

Hang in there. I experience a lot of this since the beginning of the year and thought maybe it was me. Even though I thought I mellowed my submissions. Want to see the normal submitters stay. Had enough of Japanese anima stuff I don’t even understand.

Thanks for the nice words. At the very least, I am taking a bit of a hiatus. For the longest time, I made 3 submissions per day. I haven't made any new submissions in recent weeks. I may be back at some point in time.

I've noticed the same pattern too. But I disagree with most comments here saying that there is some sort of shenanigans going on or that it has to do with the mods. To me it simply has to do with the average age group of who visits the site during certain times of the day. I haven't been submitting much lately, but when I have a chance to check out the latest, I often end up logging on and upvoting a lot if good memes because I see that they are going unnoticed. The afternoons seem to be a popular time for the after school age group. They also seem to be the least likely to upvote memes. They also seem to be the most likely to complain about not getting to the front page. Any how, I feel your frustration when one of your memes features during a less desirable time of the day. I can't imagine having to review all that gets submitted on a 24 hour basis.

I sincerely appreciate all of the comments. That being said, I have yet to hear a plausible, cogent explanation other than chicanery by mods/website owner/trolls, or anyone else.

The view counter doesn't really affect the amount of upvotes or attention your memes get. You're still getting the views even if the view counter doesn't record all the views. The counter isn't working properly.

I have a few memes that did well with 20 plus upvotes and the view counter shows the meme only got 50 views.

Yeah, if you'll see my front page meme at the top it has 188 upvotes and only 930 something views. And the rest of the front page memes don't have a lot of view either. At least, according to the view counter. lol

Anything is possible. But it seems to me that if the definition of the most basic of statistics has changed, the the onus of notifying the members lies on whoever changed it. And in the absence of a notification, one should assume that it has not changed.

I've noticed the same trend over the last few weeks. I just figured I was on some kind of restrictions. Looking for other sites now.

That being said, I have been spending time and energy in working on other matters. Business is picking up where we are finally into the fishing season.
