It's not so much what side of the ideological spectrum a respondent is on as much as it is what personality type. If a person is closed-minded and authoritarian in their outlook, right or left, they'll tend to reject the debate points of others with vehemence. My truth is the only truth and all others are deluded and should be put down. I think that's the biggest bugbear in politics today - the true believer.

agree. All to often since I'm right leaning I've been lumped in with the westboro Baptist crowd, just as you have been lumped in with left kooks. Extreme groups attract extreme people, and my point was there are plenty of both out there.

If someone on the right gives me a decent debate on the merits then that to me is way preferable to all the preaching to the choir on the left. :)

I'm guilty of making political memes, but I try to not be derisive about it. I just want a debate. But having a political debate on imgflip is next to impossible without it degenerating into name-calling or verbal fisticuffs. I welcome users' responses, but if someone wants to state their position and expect everyone to accept it as gospel truth without proof, and if it isn't accepted that way then start in with the nastiness, then I just shut down the responses from my direction, considering it a lost cause. Every once in a while I'll poke to get responses, but I let it be if it gets out of hand. Give me an actual debate and then I'm good with your beliefs even if I don't agree with them; but if it's sh!t-flinging you want...

Lol are you kidding? All there is on this site are anti-Hillary memes. The original point is about not attacking memers personally. I posted something about Trump. Then you came after me specifically mentioning me by name. That's the issue here. It's about creating memes ridiculing other memers for their beliefs. Read the original meme again. I often try to have polite debates with people but I will frequently get attacked personally or called some childish name. Look in a mirror.

And yes there are a lot of anti-Hillary memes on this site because a lot of people on this site don't like her and for good reason.

Attack your views by disagreeing with them? I don't call names and I don't go after people directly. I debate, I disagree with what's said. There's a distinct difference. You can look at my comments and see for yourself. But often I wind up defending myself or being called names because I'm disagreeing.
