most ppl like the ones that insult "the other side" and they label them as funny. the ones insulting "their side" they say are not funny. all are just annoying to the majority.

The folks you describe are totally the majority of people, unfortunately. The percentage of politically oriented memes featured and the percentage of politically-oriented memes on the front page proves this.

The memes I personally find annoying, are the stupid trendy ones like "da wae" and "cash me ousside", but you don't see me running around complaining and claiming everyone thinks like me. Because guess what? If they did, then that garbage wouldn't be on the front page, now would it?

that doesn't prove politics is the majority it just means ppl into politics have big mouths. its just like how every show has gay ppl in it. gay ppl are the vast minority. but hollywood wants to promote that its like 1 out of 5, when its more like 1:100. doesn't mean that being gay is the majority. just proves they have the loudest voice.
i don't like those trendy meme's either. but they are just here for a few weeks or months. then they end. the politics just don't end. the election is over stfu already.

Listen Chief, I happen to agree that 95% of the political memes are neither funny nor clever. I just know better than to expect anyone to stop doing something because it happens to annoy *me*. The fact that half of the memes on here are political may not be indicative, but the fact that they continually make it to the front page, is.

Also, you'd have better luck getting porn out the internet than you would getting politics out of the internet, especially these days.

I'm glad we agree that 95% of political memes are not funny. also know that since this meme made it to the front page means many others share my opinion of politics. (complete waste of time). you yourself can confirm that many times you have seen a funny meme on this site and scrolled past it, without giving it an upvote, or comment. yet a political meme in favor of your side will surely get an upvote and or comment. am I correct? hence comments and upvotes being the reason political memes make it to the front page, not because they are the majority. I agree with you that me whining about political memes will not eliminate politics from imgflip. however, well I have no however. . . I want a change. that doesn't mean I expect a change. I realize nothing will ever change.

Now, I realize it's only my opinion, and my opinion and a dollar is worth the dollar, but I think the only type of meme that is less funny and more annoying than a herp-derp political winger meme, is a meme that complains about other memes and says "boo hoo, stop doing that, it's annoying" or "why doesn't this site conform to my vision of what it ought to be".

And yes, about one out of ten politically oriented memes are actually clever and funny and they get an upvote from me, regardless of who or what the object is. If you really look, that percentage applies to the entire site. 9 out of 10 memes are just dumb, period. Political or otherwise.

How is that complaining? I was actually trying to get on the front page by following the trend. "CISCO knows da wae" with a picture of a 500 Series Wide-area Application Engine I thought was pretty damn clever. *sigh* Nobody gets me.
