That kind of sucks that the mods are bending over and accommodating frivolous complaints like that. Your memes didn't seem offensive to me (at least the last one I saw wasn't).

Although it isn't that difficult these days to get under people's skin, so it seems. It doesn't bother me that it got sent back, it had over 60 upvotes and plenty of comments. It took off slowly, then sped up quite a bit.

Big family reunion next month in San Diego. With my sister and her transitioning daughter who is now the son she never had. Have to pretend like everything is perfectly normal.

I have never seen that happen before. Did they recently change the algorithm for downvotes?

This has happened to me a few times. In fact, about a month or so ago, I submitted a meme that literally shot up to the front page in about 8 hours after I submitted the meme. It ended with about 60 upvotes before the meme got sent back to submission. It hadn't even been out 15 hours.

A meme has always been able to be sent back no matter where it is on the hot pages. There has to be a certain percentage of downvotes to upvotes to be sent back. And if someone complains about the meme (flagging it) the MODS look at it and determine if it's "offensive" enough for them to send it back to submission.

The thing I like about the viral section on here is if a meme gets sent back to submission, it can still be on the viral section. My meme got sent back, but it's on the third page of the viral section. Apparently you can't send those back to submission.

Yeah, I saw that one. It's a shame it can be trolled like that, but at least it got you 160 upvotes. I upvoted it when it was out.

That one might have been taken down by a mod because it wasn't creatively captioned. It took me a year to notice the mods will pull front pagers back to submitted if the meme had a period or smiley face and/or other captions set to zero font size. A mod recently updated the Submission Guidelines to better explain that.

That might explain why one of my top page memes I put emojis in a while back got taken down suddenly.

For unknown reasons, appears it's easy for stuff that doesn't meet the Submission Guidelines to feature. Foreign language memes (which personally I like) are an example. Once those creations outside the guidelines feature, most usually die a quiet death on the back pages. I'm guessing the mods frequent the hot pages more than most users realize. When and if the mods comment, it's usually there. If they see something on the front page that doesn't meet the guidelines, seems like they can and still do take those down.

It got sent back to submitted for some reason. Not sure why.

Same here. Like I said, my memes have not been political. They did use custom templates, but even then I have seen my featured ones return to submission.

I saw your Puffin template submission. Personally, I wasn't offended, but after I read the text, I knew you were going to catch some sh*t about it. Some people on the site take the subject matter and themselves way too seriously. I don't have to mention their names, but the only time you hear from them is in the submissions dealing with political or social issues. That guy who was talking about pissing on you was also finding fault with the McDonalds sign submission also. So, it looks like another troll has joined the troops. Keep submitting, you're doing a fine job.

I think I missed the pissing on me part. lol! I don't submit a lot of political memes like I used to, but every now and then I will. I think this site has something against memes that are against supporting trans people.
