This meme appears to be trying to draw a direct correlation between an individual's intelligence and their net (financial) worth. There is no direct correlation of that nature. Albert Einstein was a genuine genius, but he was never rich in the financial sense of the term.

Because someone is rich doesn't mean they are "smart" or "rational." Because someone is "smart" or "rational" doesn't mean they will be rich.

There IS a direct relationship, no matter how smart you try to seem about it.

Stupid and crazy people are pretty much always poor. No exceptions. If they happen to be rich, they got it through some inheritance or windfall, and as the saying goes, "A fool and his money are soon parted." They quickly lose it.

A person that is both smart AND rational, however, is required to even be rich. I'm not saying "all people who are smart and rational are rich" I am saying it's a minimum requirement. Other factors come into play such as ambition, other life values, ones driving goal in life, and to a degree some luck.

Just because someone is rich doesn’t mean they’re smart. Trump called the one person Pocahontas remember? (I don’t know who because I didn’t see the thing itself) So he stupidly uses offensive things from little kid disney movies. And he’s getting us into a war, putting lives in danger, just because of a stupid button! And no actual smart person would call themselves a stable genius. If you are smart, people can tell you’re a genius. Think of all those things, and remind me how trump is smart for all that.

"Moron," "Imbecile," "Child," "Idiot," "Illiterate" - these and more are how his own appointees and staff have described him. Not even Bush Jr got that.
Every moment of video, audio, tweet from Trump is an embarrasing cringe fest. Gosh, they even use his image to promote condom use in Brazil.

I wasn't.

One day, if the world survives, we'll look back at this and say at least he was good for that.

I wasn't surprised they used him.

I'm sure his image will be used in other countries for anything from that to telling kids what happens when they don't study to warnings about not seeking adequate care for psychiatric conditions in dire need of a lobotomy.

In your second paragraph, you generalize and claim no exceptions - you then state examples that constitute exceptions.

Your third paragraph you state that a person "is both smart and rational " is "required to even be rich." That doesn't hold. In addition to the possibility of inheritance is the possibility of winning a lottery and getting rich that way.

As far as mental state goes, people can crack under pressure. This can occur to rich or poor.

Let me help you out.
You could be poor BECAUSE you are stupid, but you wouldn't be poor BECAUSE you are smart.
Likewise, you could be rich BECAUSE you are smart, but you wouldn't be rich BECAUSE you are stupid.
2 ups, 6y,

That's not true. You could be poor and smart. You can be rich and stupid. There is no exclusivity between them. There is no casual relation either. Being smart doesn't mean you will be rich. Being stupid doesn't mean you will be poor.

This is all egalitarian bullcrap. Studies show IQ has a direct correlation to average income, for instance. Third world countries also have the lowest average IQ.

It's a lot easier to believe the fairy tale that everyone is equal and the only reason they don't succeed is sheer bad luck and discrimination. No one wants to claim responsibility for their own stupid actions. Hence, why we have a billion warnings not to put ladders on uneven surfaces, and not to use plastic bags as children's toys. They're there for a reason because some idiot didn't think it was a bad idea.
1 up, 6y,
1 reply
Yes, there is a correlation. Which is why IQ goes up over the generations for families with raised incomes.
Everything from improved nutrition to basic stimulation starting at the youngest age to better education as well as self esteem contribute.

Children from ghettos in Western countries who are adopted by higher classes show an improvement.
Even adult Untouchables from India and Barakumin from Japan score higher after moving to countries where their traditional lower caste status is unknown by the general public.
0 ups, 6y,
1 reply
Aaaand those studies say that even if you take some 3rd world infant out of poverty and put him in a good home with good nutrition, the IQ only raises so far, like half a standard deviation.
0 ups, 6y
Granted, it sure didn't work for you, unless your lineage was truly that cretinous.
1 up, 6y
Also I think you are completely misunderstanding me. I definitely think there are people who are smarter than others. I think you are the one idealizing that reality will properly reward ability and deny that reward otherwise. I think the world is a lot more chaotic than you are giving it credit for.
1 up, 6y
That's not a direct correlation. Having more money means that you can afford to to be smarter. Being poor means you are in survivor mode and you care much more about how to get by, than reading a book.

You kind of prove my point with your example of underdeveloped countries. No one in that country is smart. Why is that? Guess they were all born stupid then. Guess how much their families make, or who they interact with has nothing to do with it.
0 ups, 6y
You must be poor.

Trump has had like 450+ separate business of those, 3-4 had to declare bankruptcy. So a 99% success rate is pretty good imo.

So the North Korean dictator is constantly violating UN resolutions, firing rockets over S Korea and Japan, repeatedly threatening the US... and Trump is starting the wars? Hm, ok.....

I’m saying trump knows if he keeps going on there is going to be a war that puts lives in danger so instead of stoping he feels the need to do that

You're right, we should let the God emperor develop the technology for his rockets so his nukes can reach the US. 'Sarcasm'

The war is inevitable. Better to have it now while the US is safe than later when Hollywood will get turned to radio active glass. Well, maybe we could wait...

If you put that money into a mutual fund that followed S&P... it actually does work that way. He could spend his entire life sitting on his hands and claim more monetary success.

I guess that went over your head... It's okay just google 'index fund investments.' That should educate you a bit.
[deleted]
1 up, 6y,

You still don't know why I'm laughing at you...

Fine, I'll explain. When you invest in that kind of stuff you're letting companies use your money to make money through the business they do. In return you'll get a piece of the profit proportional to the investment you made. Those companies have a ton of businesses. Some of those businesses even fail but because they have so many that don't fail they will essentially always turn a profit.

Trump does the same things as those companies. He has a lot of businesses and a few failed but because he has so many he still earns profit. Why would a man like that need to give his money to other men like himself to do what he's already doing? I'm sure he does have a few investments like what you suggested in areas that aren't in direct competition with his own interests, but what you had in mind is silly. Hence, hahaha and you don't know what you're talking about.
[deleted]
1 up, 6y
Well, he can let the money grow by getting more small loans of one million dollars from his dad,
1 up, 6y
Very good job, hits the nail on the head.

He does exactly what these other index funds do, except he gets to collect a much larger piece of the pie and lets other schmucks invest for much smaller pieces.

To say he'd have more sitting around by itself is very ignorant. The stock market has been quite turbulent over the past decades, with booms and busts. He could have potentially been wiped out in this process. But in the 1970s and early 80s, the Dow Jones was at 1000. Now it's sitting at 25,000. Do the math, and it's hard to reason how, if he invested 1 million into the stock market, how he could have much more than 50 million, counting the dividends.
1 up, 6y
Because they do it much better with a lot less effort on his part. Normally you would be right, but he just isn't a good businessman. Not in the way he conducted business or the way he grew his business. The fact he couldn't beat S&P 500 index fund investments is proof of that.

Loan is still a loan. How many people could take a million dollars and actually grow it into billions? Most people just blow all their money, and 80% of start-up business fail for typical americans.

Not Trump, whose claim of being worth a billion or so is believed only by the reality tv oggling ignoramuses who lap up his every word because their lives have no hope of getting elevated otherwise.

How many people worth so much declare bankruptcy 4 times?

How many people cheat their clientele, their hired workers - people who have succesfully sued him in court?

How many people sell out their country to the enemy for a handful of rubles?

Failure is failure. × 4 (plus a series of closed businesses) is × 4. Compounding it with a failure to pay the debt incurred by such hardly makes it better

Court records mean something also, as much as that hurts your slanted narrative.

Lols you are tardo. Tell me more about what you learned from CNN and The Daily Show.

The closest thing to evidence the FBI has is the email between trump junior and that Russian attorney. The best part about that is the emails turned out to be the Russian trying to give jr "evidence that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with the Russians." Funny how that lead didn't get pursued.

I get upset with people because they let themselves be brainwashed. I shouldn't have called you a tardo. It's not your fault, the media is just really good at what they do.

I assumed CNN because you clearly don't do any research.

Based on your statement you're being fed false information. The most abundant source of false info is the mainstream media. You might be watching/reading NBC or ABC but it really doesn't matter because it's all bs.

I don't know who Alex jones is. Not everyone is brainwashed by the media.

Do your own research and avoid reading entire articles. Just look for the facts and put those together to form your own opinion.

I can see your sense of humor and irony are worthy of the massive pile of fermented dung you have stuck in that echo chamber that functions as your skull.

Yes, dimple brain, I be "reading NBC or ABC" - what happened to CNN? And how about darling FOX for the minions of inbrednecks like yourself? Do I "read" that too?

btw, can you please just use ONE of your alts per thread? Double the stupidity doesn't make you look any less stupid.

I don't have an alt. I deleted my first reply because of a typo, if that's what you mean.

As I said, all mainstream media is bs, even Fox. My point was you're getting bad information, regardless of which provider you prefer.

It's best to ignore politics if you're not willing to inform yourself properly. You will get brainwashed otherwise.

Of course you don't.
The OP and you resort to the same base insults to express your identical pre fabricated simpleton views because you both have the same overwhelmingly high IQ, right?
