People can't continue to ignore what their governments are doing any longer. Remember when Margaret Thatcher tried to impose a Poll Tax on Britons? They hit the streets. Hard. She was forced to backtrack on that tax, which would have made life in Britain even more horrendously expensive for the average joe, and was out of office soon after.
People need to start standing up for themselves in the face of the incremental loss of freedoms. Freedom of speech is *the* most important thing in everyone's lives, regardless of political stripe. I wish my American friends all the best. You're in for a bit of a rough ride with this sad news.
