It is changing all the time. It is different game now with the holidays in swing. You really have to pay attention to what is happening on the hot pages to understand what works. :)

But the competition is usually fairly strong with many memes saying basically the same things all posted within posted within short time spans of each other. You get similar problems with current affairs too. :)

I think political memes draw the most trolls which is why I used evil toddler. And honestly, my opinion, the main reason anyone is popular here is their social game more than their memes. That’s why I will occasionally say to someone who has posted a hateful meme directed at a top flipper is “who are you? I’ve never seen you comment on any memes.....” But it certainly helps to have some funny ones at least once in awhile. Like I said, that’s just my opinion:)

You're right, playing upvote fairy and commenting does increase popularity, but it is still no substitute for having good memes. They complement each other. :)

I try and do both. I never make a meme unless it makes me laugh, but I also try to make them so others will too.
