So you are aware what influence factors from socio-economic background to education to nutrition have on IQ. Groups subject to social upheavel/displacement, poverty, and malnourishment are going to do worse than the privileged. People who can afford it pay for quality education for a reason.

The Eta of Japan, Travelers of Ireland, Untouchables of India, and other such lower castes in various countries score lower on IQ and other tests compared to their compatriots even though they are gentically identical to them, the distinction coming from cultural tradition. Yet after moving to other countries like the US, this difference disappears as they match their brethren in scores.
So even attitude and confidence have an impact.

Native Americans are STILL barely a blip, Jews aren't much higher in number either, and contrary to rumor, only a very few rich owned slaves, making their descendents only 5% of the population till fairly recently. They only hit the 10% mark a decade or so ago.
Catholics only INVENTED Christianity, although its runaway rebel child, Protestentism, was, and still is, the largest Christian denomination in the USA.

Things weren't always so pleasant for minorities, but the standard of living in general was relatively high for the times.

Crime was a lot lower than today. Goodness, that's even including the fact that some of today's everyday crude behavior was considered criminal or close to it. So even with a broader definition of crime an/or unseemly behaviour, it was still significantly safer than today.

Which time in history do you consider this golden age? In the 1790s Africian Americans were almost a fifth of the population. That percentage did decline over time but I think your charactization is a little off. Whites were 90% of the population in the 1930s but we were also having the Great Depression then and standards of living were quite low. In the very long term violent crime has actually been in decline since the beginning of the country. And since the 1990s crime in general has been in decline even as the country has become more racially diverse. I’m assuming that the point of Natalie’s post is that white Christians are superior to people of other races and religions. I am extremely opposed to this point of view. It amazes me the number of people on this site that are happy to defend and promote this point of view. My granny and grandpa certain didn’t teach me that this was acceptable behavior.

Perhaps if you Googled BEFORE your first post, you wouldn't have to come back and attempt to refute what I had said by verifying it.
