This is my great aunt Ethel. She passed away about a year ago at 100. She and my grandfather were among 12 full siblings, and another 10 or so half siblings. She was very active and helped take care of others including my grandfather until late in her life. She was the only one of her siblings to make 100, though a sister, Pauline made 99, brother, George 97, Brother, Henry mid 90s (ww2 vet), and my grandfather, Leland 95. My grandfather and Uncle George both worked until very late in life and were pretty healthy and mentally sharp until the end. Uncle George was the oldest sibling and had to drop out of school in the 6th grade and go to work to support the family when my great-grandfather had a stroke and became an invalid. He was an amazing man. He made a promise to the Lord that he would start out giving 10% tithe, but wouldn't be satisfied until he gave 90% and lived on 10%, something he did, and was blessed through modest hard work and investment to have significant wealth and gave away who knows how much. My grandfather was a preacher, but worked various other jobs throughout his life. They were all amazing people. I could go on and on, but so I already have lol. Aunt Ethel was the last of her generation to pass. I don't think we in later generations are cut from the same cloth as they were.
