In my opinion those jobs are meant to be starter jobs, you know, first jobs that a teen gets out of high school or temp or seasonal jobs. . If there's room for advancement great, if not, leave.
I worked at Lowe's one time for six months. Worse job I ever had. The stint there ended with me telling the store manager to go F himself. I'm not proud of ending it that way, but I couldn't take the pressure anymore.
