This is a great example of what's wrong with our culture.

The word "sinister" originally just meant "left". Anti left-handed people (yes, that was actually a thing) redefined the word to mean something else in order to advance their agenda.

It's no more absurd than pointing out that the whole "red state/blue state" dichotomy is backwards, because Republicans should be blue because their "blue blooded, hoy-foloy uber-rich", and the Democrats should be red because they're all basically closet communists. Neither of these generalized stereotypes are even remotely true.

I have to say it again, that "sinister" originally just meant "left", as in direction or physical orientation. In heraldry, 'a lion, sinister' means a lion facing to the left side of the coat of arms, not that the lion is evil or anything. The alternative meaning of "sinister" that you are referring to, is again a definition added by people who wanted to put forth the ridiculous notion that left-handed people are evil and not to be trusted.

But you can read into it what you want. If you're worried that some people might take my ironic wordplay too seriously, maybe the problem isn't with the ironic wordplay. Stereotypes, unfair as they are, exist for a reason, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe it's healthy to utilize properly measured footwear.

Honestly, I'm not sure if you're upset because of the double-entendre, or you're upset because I made clever wordplay out of it. Either way, it's a 'you problem', not a 'me problem'.

He has freedom of speech. But by refusing to stand during the national anthem, he's just disrespecting the people who paid for his freedom of speech. What is he really accomplishing by doing it? And I think the only reason he does it is for show. If people ignored the poozer he might stop.

All the hype about him being unsigned because he takes a knee during the National Anthem. Even more hype about the NFL being prejudiced. He was offered positions on a few teams and turned the offers down. He's a second string quarter back and wants to get paid as a starter. He took a gamble by opting out of the 49ers and he lost that gamble.
