My dad ( a retired sheriff ) worked at a metal market. Well this guy comes in with a bunch of metal letters, abc etc. Turns out he stole all the letters off of tombstones from a town not to far away.
The guy was eventually charged and found guilty of 93 counts of grave robbing! Holy shit!

Good. A few years ago where I live, people were stealing flowers and wreaths off of grave sites. It was really bad during Memorial Day and Veterans Day. I don't think they ever caught anyone.
I've taken reports on stolen urns, letters, markers - one rat bastard actually stole a Zinc headstone (they are not made anymore - considered very valuable) and brought it to the metal recycler. His butt (without plug) went to jail.
