The thing is, people greedy for IMGFlip points flock to Raydog's memes because of how popular he is. They figure the more people who see his posts, the more chances they have to get their comments upvoted. So a lot of people upvote his memes in order to help it get to -and stay on- the front page, and then they comment on them as well. This in turn produces upvotes and replies to their own comments, which is more opportunity for points.
The good news is that many of his memes are actually front page worthy, so it's not like we are all having to deal with crap being posted on the front page. And more important, he USUALLY replies to every the comments. That causes more people to flock because it means more points for them and because, let's face it, that's cool. People like cool, So many of us like Raydog.
I personally don't upvote and comment on his memes simply because I like to help people obtain points, and he obviously doesn't need my help. But I cannot honestly say that his memes suck. Nor will I suggest that they are unoriginal. Have I seen some of his meme jokes elsewhere? Sure. But only a handful out of the hundreds I've viewed. Many of his memes are actually entertaining and worthy of being commented on. Bottom line, as far as I'm concerned
