Haha. I read about a kid who got credit in either his sociology or psych class for convincing most of his chemistry class to sign a petition to ban the use of dihydrogen monoxide in labs.

I used to work with a guy who really would call out when it was raining too hard. He had no problem using his vacation or sick time. Don't know why he did it. Maybe he didn't want to mess up his hair.
