Cesar Romero refused to shave his trademark mustache for the role of the Joker, but rather than cast anyone else the makeup department just covered it up as best they could.
Seriously irritates me when people bag on different actors' versions of The Joker, like the one from Suicide Squad, for example. Of course, each actor will have their own take on the role, but that's what makes it interesting.
