I'm a libertarian myself, albeit with a small 'L'. I prefer to just let people get on with their lives, which is what I gained from my liberalism, which, despite the righties calling us all socialists, is focused on the autonomy of the individual. I believe in government allowing citizens to do what they want (for the most part), but should intervene if those with a lot of power attempt to take away rights and freedoms. I'm not a believer, but was one up to about the middle of college; I'm not really an atheist, I respect and mostly follow the teachings of Jesus, but I feel more that science is a better explainer of reality. But yeah, I'd never insult anyone's religion, and when people dump on Islam, despite the perfidies of its most conservative followers, I get torked. (But I guess I also shouldn't assume you're a Christian.) My libertarian liberalism tells me to respect all beliefs, or at least the parts of it that don't lead its followers to do obnoxious things.
