Jehovah's Witnesses believe that there is not Holy Trinity and Mormon's believe that you must do good works so that you can become a God like how "he did."

Every sevt of the Christian faith interprets the biblical texts in their own way. You do point out two if the more aggressive sects as far as soul winning goes, but there are many others that also go out cold calling.

Regardless, they are considered part of the Christian Churches, just like the Catholics, the Episcopalians, the Pentacistals, and the Seventh Day Adventists.

Nobody ever said beingba Christian was easy. The hardest part is not the criticism from non-believers, but the inability to not judge others. I know you would like to see everyone in heaven, but that is not to be. Many may discover that they fell short for not putting it in the hands of their God. If you believe you have won one soul to the path of righteousness and God, you are mistaken. At best, you are no more than an instrument for the creators use. No car was ever repaired with on socket alone. It took a ratchet, some Wrenches, some screwdrivers and more. Then it took a mechanic that knew what he was doing. Accept that you are his socket, and do the work intended, but remember, sometimes a bolt needs cut off or torched. It's not the sockets fault.

FWIW, I spend as much time pointing out the good as well as the bad. It drives my sister, the missionary, nuts. But she does good when she visits Kenya, so I help her as I can, even though I left the faith.

To me Atheism is a just a pessimistic depressing march towards your inevitable death. I mean geez even if God isn't real at least it gives you something to live for. W/o religion life is meaningless. You die after 60 odd years never to remember nor be remembered. Nobody and nothing can save you. You are alone, helpless, and lost in a world of death pain and destruction. There is no hope, no happiness. All is but a temporary mask that covers the ugly face of inevitable death.

Atheism does give you nothing to live for. I know someone who is an athiest, they said, "If God is so good, why would he let sickness and war to happen?" It's because of the original sin caused by the Devil. Wouldn't you at least want to believe something like Christianity so that you wouldn't want to die and then all traces of you are "gone" like you believe?

Also a reason why they are so afraid of dying, and why they live their life each day as if it was their last day.

So your argument for Christianity is that it gives you death to look forward to? I am an atheist and I strive to make the most of my life, enjoy my time and live the best I can. For the record, we think all religions are silly human constructs. It's amazing to think that people kill each other over literature from the bronze age that is most certainly fiction. If you fall in line behind anything because of fear or coercion, that cause is always wrong.

Well if ypudon't believe me, just take a look at the suicide rate. Google stuff like "Nobody cares anymore" and see how people who have no hope act, how people who feel alone act. Im not sayig religion is some great amazing foolproof system for happiness. But at least it gives other people hope, or sonething to believe in. I'm not against happiness. I just question why religion makes people happy. I could be wrong, but I think its a cop out and not real. Why would I be happy to know that I will win the powerball after I die? It is quite the scam. Give me 10% of your money and I promise you a reward after you die. Kinda hard to verify customer satisfaction on that proposition. If you can muster the credulity to believe, and ignore the extortion and promise of eternal punishment if you don't believe, then I guess that might make some happy. Which is fine. I find the institutions that propagate the scam to be repugnant, not necessarily the victims. There are some great studies and books on happiness. (I am at a loss at the moment of one of the better books I read. It was required reading for a class my daughter took at Clemson. I picked it up and read it as well.) Essential the book states that happiness is relative. If you have experienced trauma or your circumstance is miserable, the slightest break or improvement leads to happiness equivalent on the scale to someone who has a good life suddenly gaining a huge financial or personal windfall. It is subjective. Me paying off my truck gives me the same amount of happiness as a wealthy person buying their dream mansion. Just an analogy.
