That doesn't prove your point at all. In fact, I would say it nearly runs counter to it. Popularity and visibility are not the same thing. Visibility only brings the users to you. It doesn't guarantee upvotes at all. Just like a true hater you ignore the other statements that go against your theory. The game isn't rigged, but after going through your memes apparently for a second time, I still came to the same conclusion that your memes just don't and won't appeal to a broad audience. If upvotes and getting more than 100 views per meme are still important to you, you need to figure out how to appeal to a broader audience.

There's several leaderboard memers who actually use their visibility to promote those very types of memes you're talking about. If I come across a good meme from a new memer I absolutely link to it on my latest meme or if I have one on the front page I link there as well. Do you realize how many weekly leaderboard memers are new? I got there in just over a month. I made it to #26 in 3.5 months by interacting with the community.

Fair enough. However his popularity does have a lot to do with his guaranteed upvotes. The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award mentality is strong here. If it's a popular brand people support it regardless of quality.

You grossly over-estimate "guaranteed upvotes" and highly under-estimate how much of the community likes his style of humor. I can tell you haven't actually looked at all the memes by top users or you'd see it's not brand support regardless of quality.

I disagree. I make good and funny memes, BUT, I dont have anyplace to share them with other than here, I don't do facebook or Reddit, so the exposure is limited unless a kind person likes and links my work outside of Imgflip. Has nothing to do with who is who or their standing and I sure ain't trying to make the top of the heap, just here having fun mostly...

2nd, up votes don't make you popular, nor does the front page. As being popular, doesn't equate to front page.

Plenty of new or lesser known memers make the front page each week. Once they hit the front page they're not all of the sudden superstars or dominating the front pages. Some might take weeks or months to get back to the front page.

I've never made the front page, or the 2nd. And I kinda think I'm a popular user. But popular is only relevant to each person. This maybe the first Raydogs memes I've commented on.

The front page is just a bonus if and when it happens. I thought the three I had today were pure gold and that at least one of them would have a chance at the front page. Didn't happen. I had fun making them though, and I'lll try one of them again in a week or two that's not on a star trek template and see if it has better appeal that way.
