I even have a decibel meter on my phone... You'd be surprised how many places are above the OSHA limit.

Many. I went to App Store, googled decibel meter. There are many free ones, and you would be surprised how loud places are. At my daughters school, she was receiving reading services, in the basement, next to the boiler room. Well that teacher was moved out of that room to say the least.

Thanks- we have a loud business nearby and the township won't act until they have a decibel level. but the township won't buy a meter. Wonder if this will help my case.

I made the mistake of not caring in my teens and twenties. Loud music, fireworks, etc. I have some hearing loss but the worst symptom is tinnitus, constant noise from the minute I wake up til I fall asleep. Yes, protect your ears.

Yes. I have the constant ringing too. What they don't tell you is many drugs are Ototoxic. We have literally a silent epidemic in our midst.

A football game there hit 115, even the lead singer asked if it was too loud during the concert...my guess is around 130-140. I always wear earplugs at concerts though because it makes for a waaaay better experience. Drowns out the white noise from the crowd, minimizes the reverb heard, clarity of the lyrics and individual instruments. It turn for slightly lower volume, well worth the trade off. I always bring enough to share with anyone who comes with.

Ken, I'm 40 and have the hearing of an 80 year old. Genetics... I inherited all the issues.

I'm 50 and I inherited poor choices in hearing health. You're good in teaching those men better. :)
