Hope you don't think I'm being a dick. One of the first things I was taught by my parents about car maintenance was tire care. You ever heard of the "penny check?" You turn a penny upside down, and stick it in the tread; the more of Lincoln's head you can see, the more worn out the tire.

I did hear about that. :) I also try to watch the tread line but sometimes when you run over a dead animal, metal object, or a human, it's hard to avoid a blown tire :)
