Not saying repost, but it reminds me of one that Invicta103 did. His was more "political", where as yours is going against the media.

Invicta was one of the very first friends I made on this site, I don't recall that meme but maybe it is lodged in my subconscious and influenced me making this one. I've been thinking about him a lot so it's possible, I'll have to go look for that meme now. He didn't use original templates until a while after we met so it shouldn't be too far back in his list.

Yes, likewise, he encouraged the hell out of me and a lot of other new users. I really hope that a) he gets his ass back here soon and b) that nothing bad has happened to him.

The meme that I'm thinking of had two scenes, left and right, a tree on a hill, with mythical creatures. If I get time I'll go look too.

When I first started submitting memes, I was on here around a month or so before I did more than make stuff for my facebook lol. Anyway I think it was like my 4th submission he liked, Reallyitsjohn and I had just started talking and then both of them filled that meme with so many comments full amazing advice and encouragement I was hooked on this site instantly. They weren't the only ones just the first, it's funny I hear people say the top users don't help new people but at the time I was helped by people at the very top. Raydog supported my meme comments big time and gave me a really big push in popularity. Socrates informed me of meme history and proper educate. At first we didn't see eye to eye on everything, but since I was respectful in our disagreement and so was he. We were able to discuss things and now I consider him to be not just a great guy on a meme site. He's a lot like a mentor, kinda like in the way you find that one professor in college you just click with. I've done my best to emulate the way he is with new users, the way all of them were and still are. It's funny in a way I still think of myself as a noob around here. I'm always learning new things about memes and at the same time teaching what I know to others. I never dreamed when I found this site just how much it and the people in it would end up meaning to me :)

Well said, I was thinking the same thing, that the top users have those traits in common. They weren't given a following, they built it. You, Socrates, Raydog, Sewmyeyesshut, Tetsouwrath, etc., like the Mount Rushmore of memers. (There's a meme idea for someone good with photoshop, LOL!)

I think it has to do with the fact we all love to laugh, more than that we love to make other people laugh. I don't think those traits really coincide with being a jerk and not wanting to help other people make people laugh. We just want to see funny memes, and if we help people there ends up being more funny memes for everybody to laugh at. Anyway that's the way I see it, the only people I won't help are those who are here to try and ruin our fun. They will never succeed because they can't make us change our sense of humors. The only person that ever effected mine was my x wife hahaha!

I like the Mt Rushmore idea, there's just not enough room for all the people I believe deserve to be on there. I've photo shopped that mountain once before that, I think it's rather fitting in this circumstance.....

As Abby says above, "well said" indeed. Very similar story for me. I was on the site for about 3 weeks. I'd just been having fun making memes, not getting more than 4 or 5 upvotes a pop, just happened to have page 9 meme the first night of page 9 week and top users have been nothing but supportive of me in the two weeks since. You, MemesterMemerson, OlympianProduct and SewMyEyesShut, have especially made me feel like part of the community. Too many others to mention by name have also been apart of that, but I never felt held back by anyone in my brief time here.

Very eloquently put. I've never had a Top User make a negative comment. Nothing but a compliment, a price of advice or a funny meme response.
