Good to know. I haven't played in so long. I taught my son and daughter but they grew up in the age of the first Nintendo console. So if there is no screen it's not cool.

It was more for the sake of the joke in the top caption. Some people might find the gameplay slow since a lot of people on the site play games where it's set up to do 1 move per day (sometimes even longer). So it has the feel of the old correspondence games people used to play by mail.

There are other sites where you play live online in short fifteen minute or half-hour games.

I learned to play in my early teens from an older neighbor who was very patient with me. After a while I even beat my teacher. As you said, it takes patience to think through all your options before you move and to wait for your opponent to make theirs. Many times that waiting is spent socializing. I like that.

I think youre referring to Chess.com, I play there sometimes as well. Chess is my favorite game, I play it very often

Yeah, that would be one of the examples of a chess site where you can play quicker games.
