Lol, seems to be a trick to it, yet another thing using up my limited free time :)

First day without the lil man in 5 weeks, I slept so long I woke up to 29 notifications lol. Trying to catch up, my work computer has windows 10 and I hate it, but it's more their property than mine and I really just use a really cool writing program on it. The one I meme with still has XP haha!

I rolled this one back to xp, twice, and twice loaded xp while clicking the mouse to break sleep mode!!! FML!!!

It's interesting, microsoft no longer supports it, yet every now and then I see a pop up that says it's a download to upgrade my xp from microsoft, because I was born yesterday!

and then wait 20 minutes for the shut down!!!

I hear ya, I was thinking the same thing if the ones I made yesterday like this one never made it out of submission. I don't mind them taking longer than popular templates I'm used to that, it's been rather extreme recently though...

Most folks never even look past the first few pages let alone in the teens , and twenty's. Only way they're seen is if someone visits your profile..

From what I can tell nothing that was an original template made it through in the past 48 hours. So they must have had a ton feature at one time, I doubt that's how they want to run things around here something must have happened. Will they ever tell us what it was... most likely not... I just hope it's back to normal now....

My guess is whatever MOD had the weekend shift had his server go down, power shut off, girlfriend rock his world, bad drug buy, is in the Olympics, won the lottery, got kidnapped by mobsters, victim of a hack, met edward snowden, started working for reddit, fell asleep, simply forgot, got abducted by aliens, dropped their phone in the toilet, went on vacation, gave hillary the templates, partied with 10 guy, got ghostbusted, in a fight with jason bourne, messed with a horde of orcs, missed the mushroom in mario brothers, slipped on a banana...etc etc

You never know lmao! It's not like they talk to us and we will ever find out, something happened, it sucked for those of us that submit original templates like myself, things seem to be back to normal now, it's an unsolvable mystery that will forever wander around in my brain haha ;)

my templates are almost all originals, but if you use the popular ones it seems they get up faster in my experience, i just thought maybe all my submissions sucked - also a possibility lol

The popular ones do go through faster because the picture has already been approved, they can run the wording through a program that determines cuss words and such without an actual person looking at it and determine it is safe. When it comes to an original template it takes an actual person looking at it to make sure nothing in the picture is rude or obscene. They can't just take our words for it that we don't have a hidden p**is or something in the picture before they put the imgflip tag on it and post it on their website. So when it comes to original templates we are at the mercy of whenever a "qualified" mod gets a chance to look at them before they are released. I love originality so I very rarely submit a popular template just because I don't want to submit something other people already have. That's why I love photo shopping because I know when I make something it is an image nobody else could have possibly used before. I completely understand why the person running a website wants to make sure that what they put their name on and feature in their site meets their standards. At times I just wish there were more people available to check original templates and have the ability to say, yeah that's ok let it feature...

I kind of wish there was a way to contact someone on imgflip with questions and concerns etc. and I really wish they had a forum so we could talk about stuff like this outside of meme threads. btw, can I use some of your excuses the next time I need some time off LOL? I understand where you are coming from, you can write the mods but getting a reply is not gonna happen. Not sure why that is exactly, they would have to reply to somebody to explain it lol. I haven't even been on this site a year yet so I'm no expert, but from what I can tell it's still pretty new and the popularity has grown very fast. So things like a forum or whatever may come along in time, or the creator may simply want this to remain a pure meme site only and that's it. Of course us all chatting in these comments kinda wrecks that but I'm not a website creator and I don't know what it takes to make things like a chat forum or what not. I just try and go with the flow and work with what we have lol. Love the meme, what I know about the links or embed codes, is that the first one is just a simple link to your meme, the third is the click to show one and a link to your meme, no idea what the second one does I just use the first or third lol. Really funny meme though, upvoted!

This site is new-ish? That kinda explains it. There may be more in time as you said. And that's pretty exciting actually too because I simply stumbled upon this place and immediately liked it. The other meme sites are nasty-spirited in comparison, this place is just a ton of fun and most everyone is respectful and helpful. But I cannot understand how fast some people move up with the points! I have an online business and can peek in from time to time during the day, but my hat is off to the leaderboard leaders like yourself! I'm really not in it for the points though, just for the fun. And thanks for the upvote. That one came to me kind of from out of nowhere. Like most of my stuff. ;P

I have no idea when this site started, that's just an opinion I have formed based on things like the oldest user I know of was around 2 years ago and that's it. I also stumbled, joined at the end of last november. I had no idea about points until I already had a lot lol. The thing is I love commenting and am rather chatty and that builds points fast. I got a reputation as a funny comment person and then my memes got more attention. I had no idea how to photo shop when I started here. But I'm a stay at home single father of two kids who works online and homeschools. So I'm around a lot, and this community is amazing with great people to talk to and meme/joke around with. I had just had neck surgery when I found this place and was stuck in bed, I honestly have to say these people kept me laughing and kept me sane ;) Glad you are enjoying it here, people such as yourself are always welcome, it's like a lost island on the internet of good people and we always keep a lookout for other survivors like you :)
