How many bullets are your going to require to be fired at an officer before they are allowed to respond with force of any kind? Do you think it is really wise to tell an officer that you have a gun WHILE reaching behind you for something? Don't you think that is something you should say before you start reaching for your wallet? Since the woman was driving, don't you think something else was going on for the officer to even need to ask the man for his license? A simple broken tail light doesn't require a license check of everyone in the vehicle. And just because the guy worked at a school doesn't mean he isn't capable of committing any crimes, in fact there are some teachers that have been caught being child molesters. I am not saying that the cops were right to do what they did, because I don't have all the information to know exactly what took place. I will say this though, a cop's job is to protect and serve, but that also means to protect themselves and each other. If the officer suspected that the guy was reaching for a guy (that the guy said was on him), if that was you wouldn't you want to protect yourself as well. 4 shots were excessive, so there could have been something wrong with the officer, but once again we don't have the whole story.
